Manufacturing Engineer

Mikron has positioned itself at the forefront of near infrared and far infrared thermal imaging by developing high-speed, high-accuracy, high-resolution thermal imaging systems for predictive/preventive maintenance, process, and research applications, and we’re not stopping there! Position Summary

The right candidate performs engineering work in various areas of specialization:

  • Analyzes manufacturing operations, makes recommendations to manufacturing management. 
  • Coordinates material acquisitions and process definitions for most requirements.
  • Specifies equipment, materials, and supplies required to implement and accomplish production requirements. 
  • Initiates engineering changes and recommends design approaches needed to meet production, process, and quality requirements of new and/or existing products. 
  • Determines time standards and performs quality/final inspections.

Basic Experience and Requirements

  • 5 years related experience in product production planning
  • Demonstrable engineering skills and hands on manufacturing experience with electronics and optical assemblies
  • Experience in manufacturing environment including methods, procedures, and cost reduction techniques
  • Basic knowledge of common quality assurance and improvement methods
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, good team player

Software Engineer

Position Summary

For our Hancock, MI location, Mikron Infrared is looking for a software development engineer to work with thermal imaging applications.  This position is located at our office in Hancock, MI and will comprise of both strategic development of new software platforms as well as customer specific adaptations, depending on the application.  Some traveling to install software and set up new systems will be required. 

Basic Experience and Requirements

  • BS/MSCS or BS/MSEE
  • at least three years of professional experience
  • knowledge of .NET and C#
  • experience with ActiveX and COM technologies
  • familiarity with C++ and Visual Basic
  • very good communication skills
  • ability to work independently
  • knowledge of foreign languages a plus
